Hey there, I’m Erin—Chief Reading Enthusiast at Story Sippers (because ‘Professional Book Hoarder’ sounds weird), husky wrangler, and general collector of things I don’t need but absolutely must have (like that book in the photo; can I read French? No. Did I get the book anyway? Yes).

I started the Illumi-Naughty Story Sippers book club in January 2024 as a way to stay connected with my bookish friends back in Houston. It began as a private club where we'd all read the same book and then gather over a virtual happy hour to gush about what we loved (or hated). About six months ago, we opened it up to the public—welcoming anyone who wanted to join in on the fun. While the virtual happy hours are a thing of the past, the spirit of lively bookish discussion is still very much alive! Story Sippers (the website) came along later as a way to connect with even more like-minded readers who appreciate a great book and an even better drink.

Originally from Houston, Texas, I’ve been living in Perth, Western Australia since 2021 with my Aussie husband, two adult children, and our three huskies. I work full-time in legal tech marketing, which has me jetting around quite a bit—recently to Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, and London. When I’m not working, I’m usually reading (duh), at the beach, doing yoga, or picking up yet another craft hobby (currently, crochet). I also love painting and making beaded jewelry—malas, bracelets, whatever keeps my hands busy.

Two of the huskies made the big move from the US with me, and the third was a 'failed foster' (which is just a fancy way of saying I caved). At one point, I had six dogs—five of them huskies—so yes, I tend to collect things: bikinis (don’t ask, I always wear the same three), books (obviously), and dogs (it just… happens!).

Outside of books and dogs, I’m all about the beach, never say no to a glass of red wine or bubbles, and have a deep appreciation for rum cocktails, margaritas, and the occasional beer. Coffee and tea? Essential. And since Perth is basically on another planet, I make an annual pilgrimage back to the US to visit family, friends, and eat all the Tex-Mex I can handle.
